Welcome to a wild arctic embrace at 69 degrees North this summer!
For this unique 5Rhythms experience we will be gathering on the western shore of the island Andøya, the northernmost island in the Vesterålen archipelago.
Our closest neighbour for these 4 days will be the Atlantic ocean (Greenland next!) - and behind us the mountains where the golden Sea Eagle lives.
Weather permitting, we will have sessions outdoors as well as indoors. We will experience the midnight Sun and the special Arctic summer light.
Our venue for the workshop is the Community House Stave Grendehus, located next to Stave Camping and Hot Pools where we have spaces reserved for us.
For this workshop we will also have the special opportunity to move with live music by Martino Biondi (IT).
The wide Arctic landscape, the waves and the high winds, the unwavering mountains and the vast stillness, gives a unique experience of the elemental forces.
We will be placed right in the middle of it, and dance with it all.
The workshop is led by Ingrid Brudevoll (Norway) and Ambu Alessia Lencioni (Italy)
Together they will take us on a magical journey through the 5 Rhythms and the 5 Elements.

For those of you who might be interested. This is for musicians who are into 5Rhythms and would like to learn something about how to play for 5 Rhythms. Martino Biondi will do some live sessions during the workshop, and after the finishing lunch on sunday, he offers a 2,5 hours special workshop for musicians. Gabrielle Roth herself always travelled with her own live band The Mirrors, led by her husband Robert Ansell and the fantastic Sanga of the Valley (Trinidad) By this initiative we wish to open space for musicians who want to play for the dance in Norway to meet and learn.

Synne Meland (Andøya, Norway)
Came to Andøya in 2007, fell in love with the island and bought a small farm in Stave. The barn became a music studio; Arctic Wave, an inspirational place for retreats, workshops and creative musical work. Synne is also a dedicated 5Rhythms dancer who has been co-producing workshops with Ingrid in the Vesterålen area over several years. |

How to get there:
BY AIR:
The easiest way to get to the venue is by plane from Oslo/Gardermoen to Andenes with Norwegian Airline:

This option gives you arrival at Andenes airport Thursday 30/7 at 7 PM, and a return flight Sunday 2/8 at 9:45 PM.
With this option we will arrange pick up at the airport on arrival Thursday, and transport to the airport Sunday night.
For more options on other dates you can check out flights with Norwegian Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines from Oslo/Gardermoen to Harstad/Narvik Airport. From here you can take the Airport Bus: (Flybussen) to Sortland
From Sortland you will need a rental car to get to Stave.
BY WATER:
It is possible to get to Andøya (Risøyhamn) by Hurtigruten which is the original Norwegian coastal voyage – connecting fjords, towns and people since 1893: HURTIGRUTEN.COM
BY LAND:

Stave Camping and Hot Pools is the perfect place to stay for this adventure. It is only a 2 minute walk from our dance floor in Stave Grendehus.
